Maybelline Lip Flush - Review

I first learned about this line from a Youtuber, Doll Up Mari.  I was intrigued with what she was a very comfortable formula and nude shades.  So I tested them out.

I bought my lipstick from Watsons, P229.00 in the shade PK02.

Packaging	It comes in a silver plastic tube with pink translucent plastic cover. With the cover, it's shaped rectangular.
Smell	This smelled really good! It smells like candy.  When you apply it onto your lips, it always makes me want to lick my lips.
Consistency	It has the same consistency of Aritaum Water Sliding Tint, it's very creamy and has the consistency similar to a lip balm.
Application	This is a nude shade, perfect for your everyday use.  It has a like touch of pink to it and a little glossy.  There's a hint of glitter to make it a little bit of shiny.   When applying, it feels SSOO SMOOTH! It glides perfectly on your lips.  I feel like I'm applying lip balm every time I apply it.  It's very moisturising to your lips.  In fact, you don't need to wear a lip balm underneath it or over it. You'll always get the feeling that you're applying a quality product onto your lips
Longevity and Kiss Test	There were no claims that this is a long lasting lipstick.  The lipstick lasted for 3 hours.  You'll definitely need to reapply during the day. It's not kiss proof and not water proof

Pros	Very smooth application, moisturising to your lips , nude color, perfect for everyday use, sweet yummy candy smell
Cons	not long lasting (only 3 hours...)

Holika Holika Jewel-Light Waterproof Eyeliner - Review

I woke up one day and said to myself, I want to wear gold eyeshadow.  This is just so random and my head won't stop bugging me.  So I tried to look for gold eyeshadow or any palette with gold eyeshadow in it.

I asked from youtube what brand or palette I could use.  A lot of people replied to have the urban decay palette, but I was not sure that this sudden obsession will last long for me to invest on an urban decay palette.  A lot of people suggested few local brands, but I couldn't go to the mall to buy them... I was busy the past 2 months and stressed out because of the in-service exams.

Then I saw in BeautyMNL this eyeliner, and I said to myself, OMG! This is the one.  The perfect golden yellow I was craving for.

Anyways enough chitchat, let's head with the review. Oh by the way, I got the shade 09 - 18K Gold

Packaging	It's a pencil type with gold cover and gold cap.  The cap fits snugly and doesn't fall off easily.  It looks elegant and because of its golden color, it's easy to find in your makeup bag/pouch vs the other eyeliners with the usual black color. When you open the cap.. this is what it looks like
Smell	It smells like melted plastic.
Consistency	It's gel-type consistency, very smooth when you swatch it.

Application	This is the best coloured eyeliner I used so far! It was very smooth and glides easily into your eyelids, there's no tagging of your lid.  Whenever I compare this to the Etude House Play 101 pencil, which is very similar to it, Holika Holika beats the play 101 pencil by a mile.  It does not smudge when it sets. It lasts all day and I didn't have any smudging.  But I experience fall-outs of the glitter.  By the end of the day, I some glitters on my face
Claims	Claims to Draw slim to bold lines depending on your preference; long-lasting waterproof formula stays on without smudging, flaking, or smearing; highlights and defines the eye with a hint of shimmer and glitter Well it really holds to its claim of no smudge, no flaking, nor smearing, and w/ glitter and shimmer. Pros	Very smooth application, literally glides on your eyelids, waterproof, easy to remove with makeup remover, affordable: php 265
Cons	Fall-outs of the glitters, you have to sharpen the pencil (Sorry I usually prefer the auto type wherein you just twist the bottom to get more product out.

Innisfree Eco Safety Aqua Perfect Sun Gel - First Impressions Review

I got this for free when I bought some korean products online, sorry can't remember which online shop.... peace.... I wanted to try this actually, since I saw in youtube and in social media that this is one of those high-rated sunscreen.

Packaging	I will not comment on packaging, since I just tried the sachet.
Smell	Coppertone smell
Consistency	The consistency sticky
Application	The sunscreen is coloured white, with a 'Coppertone' smell, it's very lightweight but a little sticky.  It also casts a white cast over your face when applied so you'll have to adjust your make-up. My make-up sits very well over it.
Pros	lightweight, can put your make-up over it.
Cons	sticky, 'Coppertone' smell
Recommend?	No, I really don't like the 'Coppertone' smell of sunscreens

Biore UV Perfect Bright Milk - Review

I know this is a little late since summer is over, but I need to test this product first for me to give a reliable review.

I've heard lots of good reviews about the Biore UV sunscreen.  There are a lot of bloggers who love these babies.

Packaging	It comes in a plastic bottle with a pointed tip.  They release 3 types for this line, I bought the pink one, the Biore UV Perfect Bright Milk.
Smell	No smell, no fragrance
Consistency	The consistency is watery and smooth.
Application	The bottle contains a ball inside, just like a correction pen, with ball inside.  You first shake bottle well before use, then apply evenly into your skin. When applied, it's very watery and your skin easily absorbs it.  It will dry a powdery finish, and your face will feel very smooth.  I actually use this as my makeup base for my face.  There's no sticky feeling like other sunscreens and there's no copper tone smell which I really love. At first I thought there might be alcohol in the ingredients, since I smelled a hint of alcohol when I applied it on my face, but upon checking the ingredients again, I didn't see any alcohol.
Claims	Protect your face from the harsh and harmful UVA & UVB rays with this ultra light yet long-lasting SPF 50+/PA++++ UV block.  Perspiration & water resistant.  Suitable for daily use.  Contains Hyaluronic Acid to moisturise.
Duration of use	1 month
Pros	Very smooth application, true to its claim of Ultra light weight texture.  Really love no sticky feeling and no fragrance.
Cons	Pricey: php 380
Recommend?	DEFINITELY!!!

Aritaum Color Lasting Tint - Review

I really enjoyed my Aritaum water sliding tint, this lead me to check for other Aritaum lip products.  I came across their Color Lasting Tint.

I bought mine from Instagram: @seoulfindsmnl for Php 490.  I bought it preorder and was able to receive it after approximately 1 month.

I got the shade #3 - Peach Puree and here's my review:

Packaging	It comes in a black sleek plastic tube, with a doe foot applicator, leaf-shaped for more precise application.
Smell	This smelled really good! It smells like peach. I think this line has the smell according to it's name
Consistency	Jelly like consistency
Application	It's very pigmented and swipes into lips very smoothly. You can smell the peach when you apply it onto your lips which is a plus for me since I like fragrant lip products.   When applied, it's moisturising like the water sliding tint, your lips will feel good.  After a while, it will feel dry but not to the point that you have to put on lip balm.  My dry lips don't chap when I use this and I don't need to apply lip balm whenever I use this. The color has a hint of coral with pink base.
Longevity and Kiss Test	It lasted for around 4-5 hours for me without any retouching. During the kiss test, the gloss will transfer into your hand but it still leaves a stain onto your lips.   It's not food-proof.  When I washed with water, this is what it looked like on my hand.
Try-out Duration	2 weeks
Pros	Very smooth application, precise, pigmented, a little moisturising,
Cons	A little pricey for a lip tint, php 490

Innisfree Promegranate Mask

This is one of my face mask sheet hauls from Hong Kong. Applying face mask sheets are really relaxing.  I'm still recovering from lack of sleep and having face mask sheets can in some sort of way, calm your senses.

Packaging	Looks simple. I think less is better anyways for sheet masks. It claims to make your skin firm and supple.
Scent	Mild peachy scent
Mask Sheet	Regular Cotton Mask Sheet
Application	Feels cool to the skin when applied.  I'm concerned with the quality of the sheet mask, I tried to readjust the sheet mask while 90% already on my face, and the sheet mask tore a little bit.
Immediate after	Immediately after removing the sheet mask (30 min), it left my soft, a little sticky, light feeling.
Morning after	Made my skin moisturized and soft, a lottle sticky
Price	Php 50, if I convert the $hk to peso when I bought this
Rating	6/10, So-so sheet mask
Recommend?	Um...? Maybe for the price.. There are better sheet masks available

Tony Moly Lip Scrub - Review

I have really dry lips, so dry that chappy lips are common with me unless I had lip balm on.  It's so dry that sometimes it hurts.

I searched the net and found out that I need to use a lip scrub to remove the dead skin cells of my lips. There were a lot of DIY in the youtube, but I decided it will be more expensive to buy all the individual products to make a DIY.  So I decided just to buy one commercially available lip scrub.

I bought my Tony Moly Lip Scrub for php 348.00.

• Packaging

Packaging is really cute! It is contained in a lip-shaped plastic container.  You twist the top lip off to open the product.  After which, you see a lid covering the product itself, which I like since it's more sanitary.

• Consistency

There were microbes in the product.  It feels a white buttery cream, a little thick and sticky.

• Application

It's relatively easy to apply, you can feel the microbes scrubbing your lips when applied.  It has a sweet last mell which is not bothering.  I tasted it, no taste.   I tried this out for 2 weeks, once a week.

Sorry I don't have a picture of the after using it.  From the before picture, I still have a residue of my Peripera's Lip ink.  And after the lip scrub, it removed my Peripera's Lip ink from my lips.  I guess this is a way to remove the product, since it's so hard to remove when used makeup remover alone.  After using the product, I felt my lips smoother although there were still some dry skin left.  You'll feel you've applied like a layer of lip balm after washing the scrub off.  So you won't feel that your lips were stripped off by the scrub.  So I guess that's a plus.

• Recommendations

I will definitely recommend this to those who have really dry lips.   I will buy this again if I used it all up

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence - Review

This is one of the products I bought from Althea.  I saw this product from a review in youtube by Gothamista and decided to test it anyways.  I bought this for php 970.  It was on sale with 35% discount in Althea.

This will also be my first Innisfree product that I'll own.  As of now, you can only get Innisfree online in the Philippines.

Let's start the review...

Packaging	I love the packaging of this product.  It comes in a beautiful blue ombre pump tube, which is great since it's more sanitary.
Smell	It has a rather strong citrus scent.  I'm not usually bothered by scents, but the citrus scent is so strong that it bothers me.
Consistency	The consistency when you have a pump is foamy.
Application	When applied, it feels lightweight and after application your skin will feel a warm, contrary to Gothamista which she felt cool after applying the product.  On first application, you'll feel that it helps your skin absorb more of the cream you'll apply to your face after this step.   I didn't see any sparkling effect to my skin after application though contrary to other reviews. The greatest con I have with this product is that it didn't work for me.  I don't have sensitive skin, but the next day, I saw flesh coloured bumps in my face.  After consulting my Dermatologist resident, she said to stop using the product since it seemed irritant to my skin.
Pros	Packaging is hygienic, comes with a pump, lightweight when applied
Cons	Overpowering smell, not compatible with my skin
Recommend?	t may work for you.  But it didn't work for me.  You have to be not sensitive about the scent since the scent is overpowering. Since it's an irritant for me, I definitely will never buy this again.
Rating	2/10  - since it's an irritant to my skin

I'm thinking of selling or giving away my bottle since I only had 3 pumps of it.  What do you think?

Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Lip & Cheek Mousse - First Impression

I've heard lots of great reviews on Happy Skin products, especially the Lippies.  I was very hesitant to try out one since it's on the pricey side.  But when one of my co-residents told me, that it was really good, and that it doesn't dry out her lips and it's worth the price, I guess I have to take the risk and buy one.

The much raved about is the crayon like shut up & kiss me collection, but I decided to buy the Lip & Cheek Mousse instead, since I still have and love my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lips lip crayon.

Let's start our review then.

Packaging	I love the packaging! It's so detailed, cute and girly. Hands down to the one who designed it. I got the shade: Swept off My Feet (Pretty creative I should say.) It comes in a plastic tube with leaf-shaped applicator for precise application of the product to the lips
Smell	Melted plastic, but not bothering.
Consistency	As the name implies, it has a mousse texture. When applied to lips, your lips will feel velvety.
Application	It's very pigmented and swipes into lips very smoothly. As I've mentioned earlier, it feels velvety. Your lips will feel moisturized actually. I have really dry lips and chapped lips and liquid lipsticks always make my lips dry. I was surprised by the way this made my lips feel, it's almost like the Aritaum Water Sliding Tint. My lips were hydrated and didn't even chapped the whole day! I didn't even used my Lip Balm!
Longevity and Kiss Test	It lasted for around 6 hours for me without any retouching. It's not kiss-proof and food-proof.
Pros	Very smooth application, precise, pigmented, doesn't dry my lips, makes my lips feel hydrated
Cons	Pricey: php 699
Recommend?	DEFINITELY!!!

Laneige Sleeping Mask Review

This is a really delayed post, been busy with hospital work.  There's a hype and rave with this product, the Lineage Sleeping Mask, and here's my opinion regarding this product.

• Packaging

The container is plastic, blue color, very simple, very elegant-looking.

• Product

It has a light fragrant clean smell, slightly floral.

The consistency is a cream, watery, very light weight.  

When applied to the skin, you can feel that your skin absorbs the product really well, and it's very light weight.  You won't feel you have something on your skin.  It's non-sticky, applies very smoothly.
After applying onto your skin, you will feel a little sticky at first, but as it sets, it will smoothen eventually.

• Effectivity

So far, of all the creams I've used, this is the BEST so far! I now understand why this is raved and hyped, it really is effective! When you wake up in the morning the next day and you wash the mask off, you'll feel your skin sooooo smooth!!!!!! It was so smooth and soft that you feel like you have baby skin.  You feel your skin very much hydrated and rejuvenated.

• Recommendations

Definitely!!!! It's pricey, but it's all worth it! I'll give this a rating of 10/10. I will definitely buy another one once it's used up.

I found my HOLY GRAIL night cream!

• Cons

It's pricey.  It's recommended to use only 1-2x per week, I wish I could use it everyday!

Althea Unboxing

Althea is in the Philippines! Actually this is the first time I've heard of it, I saw the advertisements in social media.  So what is Althea? It's an online shop that ships directly from S Korea and they carry Korean makeup at reasonable price.

So I decided to give it a try.  They're claiming that they have the best price though I think otherwise, was able to buy preorder from individual Instagram accounts at a lesser price than posted in the site. What I love about it is that it offers a wide range of brands, which is ideal since you'd love to get the best seller of different brands.  And they offer also products not typically seen in instagram accounts.

So how's my experience?

Upon 1st order, I think I had problems with my connection.  Because at first I thought I was able to check out the shopping cart and only to find out the next day through my email, from althea that it seemed that I haven't checked out yet, and I salute them for doing that! I would have a horrible experience if they didn't do what they did.

They offer excellent customer service! I was having troubles with finalizing my order and they were patient to help me out, through email.

I received confirmation of my orders last March 14, 2016 and I was able to receive the package at my doorstep at March 18, 2016.

I was so happy to get these products!!!!

Overall, I like my Althea Experience!

Banila Co Clean It Zero - Review

I'm really crazy with makeup right now.  I think majority of my salary is going to makeups.  I remove my make-up with Ever Bilena Eye & Makeup remover.  It's really affordable and it does its job.

While I was watching youtube, I saw this product which they're considering as their holy grail and can't live without.  So I was intrigued with how much good is this product anyways? And why spend a lot on a makeup remover?

I searched instagram and was able to find it online and on-hand.  I got mine for P860 for a 100g tub from @msbeautyaddict (Facebook: msbeautyaddict). She's very accommodating and I love how smooth the transaction went.

Let's start with the review:

Packaging:

It comes in a pink box, which is really cute and once you opened the box, you get a plastic tub with pink lid.  The packaging is really cute, simple and elegant.  It comes with a plastic spatula to scoop the product so it's more hygienic.  I'm worried though that I may lose the spatula as the time goes on.

Consistency:
It has a sherbet consistency, like a balm. But once you applied it to your face, it melts into your skin into oily consistency.

First Impressions Review:

You'll only need a very little amount probably a 25 cents size of the product. When I applied it, it felt oily in my skin, it has a very nice fruity scent. Upon application, it melt away my make-up.  But it was unable to remove my peripera lip ink.  I was worried that the oil will stay on my face and I hate the feeling of oil in my skin.  When I washed my face, I was surprised that there was no oily feeling on my skin.  My face felt smooth and soft and feeling washed with dirt and all the impurities.  It's like I had a facial treatment.

5 days after review:
I tried it for 5 consecutive days to give a better review of the product.  Everytime I use it, I feel refreshed and clean afterwards.

There's one major con though with this product which I noticed after the first day of using it... It blurs your vision for a brief moment right after rinsing the balm!!!!!! It can be a really scary experience! After a few seconds probably 30 sec to 1 min, your vision will return back to normal.

Pros:
fragrant
easy to use
leaves skin smooth, soft and clean

Cons:
gives blurred vision after rinsing for a few seconds
pricey

Overall rating: 9/10 - minus 1 for the blurring of vision
Will I recommend this? YES!
Will I buy again? Maybe? - I wanted to explore other brands first

Skin 79 Air Cushion Foundation - First Impression Review

I went to Hong Kong last week with the Section of Urology to have our team-building.  It was nice to get away from the hospital once in a while. 

Of course you have to shop in Hong Kong! I went to SaSa and hoarded tons of Korean makeup.  I was kind of looking for the Lineage or the cute Alice in Wonderland Beyond Air Cushion, or Hera Air cushion, but there was no tester in the store, and I'm not sure what shade I am... So I asked help from the saleslady and she offered me Skin 79 instead.  She told me since I'm on the younger age group, this is more appropriate for me, while the Lineage and Beyond caters to older age group, according to her. (Bubble thought, maybe she thinks I'm still in high school, I get that a lot).  

Anyways, this is my first air cushion. I've watched lots of youtube videos on how it works and the amazing science and concept behind it.  Plus, the fact that the idea came from stamping in crafting amazes me!

I got the shade 21 - Bright

This cushion foundation claims 5 in 1 multi cushion:

Well let's see... As for the packaging...

It has a plastic pastel blue cover with mirror.  Like other air cushion, the base can be pushed to refill. It was pretty simple and decent.

Application

When I first applied it to my face, it was light coverage.  It gives you the 'natural glow' look, dewy and natural-looking.  This is perfect for your everyday make-up.  It was really light-weight.  I don't feel like I have something in my face when I used it.

Scent - none

Is it long-lasting? - Yes, it lasted a whole day with me, with no retouch.
