Emperor-Style Tea Party

Today's dad's celebration of his birthday is different than the previous years.  My other family members are abroad celebrating in another country, somewhere in Europe (Spain, Portugal, etc).  So I made sure not be duty today.  That way, my younger sister and I can celebrate his birthday with him.

I've been thinking yesterday of how to make his birthday celebration special.  And I thought of making him breakfast in bed.  As I was looking through google of what does a chinese breakfast look like? Here's what I saw...

Then I thought, why not put my touch into it? Meaning... make it girly! hahaha.  So I thought of using my dainty teapots, teacups, plates etc. Typically for 2-tier plates, in England, they put in pastries.  But dad is not a fan of pastries. So I thought of placing dimsum in the pastry plates instead

Then I had an Intern, Lauren who mixes her own tea blend of lavender and stuffs.  So I used that her tea blend to make a pot of lavender tea.

I think the end result was a success! I believed he felt special on his special day!

Here's my dad, eating his breakfast, emperor-style with western and chinese fusion

Yup, this is one of those moments, you have to capture to remember forever.

Fishball Noodles - Dorm Cooking

I saw the ramen bar inside 7-11 & I thought it was a great idea to combine the fishballs in instant ramen.  But it's kind of expensive, P15 per topping.

Here's a cheaper way of eating Fishball Ramen.

You start with buying fishballs from the street vendor.
Then you cook your noodles in 1 1/2 cup of water in a microwave safe bowl for 2 minutes, then stir then pop it back to microwave for another 1 minute.
Drop your fishballs in your noodes & enjoy!

Zombiefied Kitty

This is my entry to my Craft rejuvination for the Lenten Season under the needle-felting category.

I was thinking of a zombie matryoshka, however it turned out to look like a zombified Hello Kitty.  What the heck, I kind of am confused of what it looked like: a zombie vs a monster?

Gelatos card

Craft break, that's what I really needed with all the stress inside the hospital. So with the lenten season, I promised myself craft healing. Meaning, rejuvinating myself through crafts that I missed doing since the start of the year.

I challenged myself to make at least one project in one og the foloowing craft categories: paper craft, needle felting, beading

Here's my entry to the paper craft.  Wait for my other projects.

Here I used my gelatos not only for the amber background but also for the shading and color of the towers. I regretted though me outlining the towers since I think the one without the outline looked better.

Mason Jar Cooking

I recently bought mason jars as a container for a gift. I just bought extra for me. As I was thinking what to do with my new mason jar other than drinking coffee or tea with it, I thought I could incorporate dorm cooking into it.

Let's start with strawberry yogurt oatmeal.

Ingredients:
Yogurt drink
Instant oatmeal

1. Pour in the yogurt drink over the instant oatmeal.
2. Mix
3. Refrigerate overnight
4. Pop into your microwave

The oatmeal smelled really good! And it tasted great!

Our second recipe is for
Pata Noodles

Ingredients
Left-over crispy pata
Instant miso soup mix
Egg noodles
Lettuce

1.  Cook your egg noodles in your mason jar 1/2 filled with water in your microwave at medium heat for 3 minutes.
2. Pour in your miso soup mix and mix well
3. Put your pata cut into strips and your chopped lettuce
4. Place in microwave for 1 minute
5. Enjoy!
