Inspiration from Walt Disney

I'm a definite Disney fan, I practically grew up with Disney and up until now even as an adult I still watch Disney animated films and computer animated films.  And the films still never cease to amaze me and give me such joy.

I've been to Hong Kong Disneyland, and I loved it there! There's just pure joy, and just "magic".  But the place I went to this time really touched something inside me, The Walt Disney Family Museum.  Going here was not part of the itinerary, but on our free day, I decided, I've been feeling really down lately, to the point I felt I was not able to enjoy fully the AUA Experience.  I know, people will say I was lucky and everything.  But I can't help it, it's like the song, "Lucky" by Britney Spears.

Anyways I was glad I made the decision to go here, this one legendary guy can give you really just the inspiration you needed.

Let's begin with my favorite quote I got from this trip:

If you can dream it, you can do it.  Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse. - Walt Disney.

He had lots of failures, from going bankrupt, getting into war, striving animation during the time of the Great Depression.  But what I loved as one of his characteristic was his determination.  He never gave up on drawing, he was determined on his dream, and he persevered to make it a reality.  No matter how crazy they are during that time.

There was great emphasis on Snow White in the museum as well.  As a kid I'm not a fan of Snow White actually, well because the way Snow White's hands always were bent up (you know what I mean) irritated me. But when I saw the story behind Snow White, I now understand why Snow White was so special.  He lost his money in the middle of production, a lot of criticisms and negativity prior to its release.  But he believed in it.  Did you ever had that feeling you believed in something so much that no matter what happens, you just know something good will come out of it?  I think this was what Snow White was to Walt Disney.  On side note, isn't it just precious to see the original sketches and drawings?

And the way all drawings were drawn and colored by hands! Just imagine all the perseverance, patience and perseverance of all the artists involved in the production!

There was a bench also there, probably one of the benches Walt Disney sat on before when he was waiting patiently for his daughters while they were playing the carousell.

He was innovative, creating multiplane camera, dreaming and imagining disneyland:

to having trains to move around (this was my favorite thing in the museum by the way)!

He was really young at heart!

What I also noticed in the museum was, he was well-loved by the people he worked with.  One of the actresses he worked with commented actually that she was never criticized by Walt.

As we were exiting the museum my dad told me, "Ang galing ng isip niya a, he looks into the future, and this is coming from just ONE man!"

Guess there's still hope...

And as I am writing this blog, my dad is watching Mulan, the Disney animated film.  Talk about how Mulan was criticized during the match-making ceremony, almost did not make it into the training of the army, people didn't believe her just because she is a girl.

I think Disney is just telling me something.
