Travel Makeup Buddies

Travelling really enriches one's soul.  You get to be exposed to different cultures, new experiences and it just feels great to experience a new country or a new city.  It gets you out of your comfort zone and opens your eyes to a lot of beauties of the world.

Whenever I travel, here are the makeup products I usually prepare / use.

Let's start with skincare.
Melbourne Skincare Buddy - Laneige Moisture kit, Laneige sleeping mask
  • Know the weather of the place you're going to.  I usually adjust what skincare I'll bring during the trip with the weather of the foreign place.  For example when I went to Melbourne, it was winter during that time, so I brought with me lots of moisturizing skincare.
  • Twistable stackable cases - I don't know how you call them, but I like using these stackable twistable like contact lens cases / bead cases in the above picture.  These are very compact and will not consume a lot of luggage space.  I usually put my balm cleanser, loose powder, eye cream, sometimes sleeping mask in it.
  • Balm Cleanser - For me, the discovery of this type of cleanser has revolutionized a part of my skincare whenever I travel.  I could just transfer a few scoops into my twistable case and I won't worry about it spilling inside my luggage.

  • Trial Kits / Samplers - when I'm too lazy to transfer my usual skincare into my travel pouch, I bring the samplers or trial kits in my travel pouch.  You just throw the sachet out when you're done, and since they're in the sachets, it will not take lots of your luggage space.

  • I actually have a pouch, measuring 19 x 9 x 5 cm.  I thought this as my standard pouch in travelling.  Here's where I put my makeup brushes and the rest.  To tell you the truth, I'm a big fan of buying travel size brushes instead of the standard size brushes, because they usually work well as standard brush and you get to take them with you also in your travels.
Check out my review on these brushes.
    Japonesque Dual Fiber Brush Set
  • I'm the type of person who likes using small-sized products instead of the large ones, since I love trying new products and usually I cannot use the product all out before the expiry date written in the container.
  • BB Cushion - this is another product that has revolutionized my travel makeup kit.  It has the container of your sponge, has a clear mirror and your bb cream or foundation just won't spill all over your stuff.
I'm currently using the Laneige BB cream, I use this in my daily routine when I'm not travelling and also I bring it with me when travelling.

PS: This post is all over the place, hahaha.  I guess I can't get my mind in order.
