For those in the non-medical field, let me explain first to you what are these duty posts are:
- Pre - This is the Pre-Duty post, we usually call it "Pre" in our institution for short. This post is described as the day prior to your "duty".
- Duty - This post is the most popular post even to non-medical field. This post is well-known as the "24-hour" shift, which I think is an understatement because since I was a clerk, there's no such thing as a 24-hours post. You get to stay up to 30 hours inside the hospital, so when I always thought the "24" hour duty is a misnomer.
- From - This post is the day after your "duty" post, people usually in this post are characterised as being "haggard", "tired" etc.
Now that all these terms are briefly explained, let's proceed to main content of this blog post...
Pre
I can describe this makeup as the most elaborate of all, during this post, you're most fresh of all in my opinion. You get to go home, and you get to wake up from your home as well. This is also the day when you get to have complete control of your time, you won't be disturbed by hospital calls when you're not inside the hospital (ideally, but not always the case for a resident).
- L'occitane Cherry Blossom Facial Mist - I use this as my base to give hydration to my face before I put on any makeup
- Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel - of course don't go out without applying sunscreen
- YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation - this is my current foundation
- The Saem Perfect Tip Concealer - just perfect, my holy grail concealer
- Heimish Dailism Eyeshadow Palette (Cozy Coral) - The shades are just perfect for my hospital look
- Holika Holika Jewel-Light Waterproof Eyeliner - I'm currently using the shade, pink topaz because it just harmonizes well with my coral-peachy makeup.
- Daiso Eyebrow Pencil - I think I've never tried any other eyebrow pencil brand, this is affordable and works just as well
- Heroinemake Kiss Me Smooth Liquid Eyeliner (Black) - this is waterproof and very long lasting
- Heroinemake Kiss Me Mascara - this is really waterproof!!!! And just my holy grail mascara, currently using the volumizing variant
- Etude House Berry Delicious Cream Blusher - I always use this as a powder blush and not as a cream blusher, but this is the only powder/cream blush in my makeup collection.
- Too Cool for School Artclass by Rodin Highlighter - this just gives you the right amount of highlight, the only think I hate about this is this breaks oh so easily.
- Nichido Contour Palette - I'm currently just learning to contour and this local brand is just great and very flexible to use, the "shape" shade is just the right amount of darkness for me since my skin is rather pale.
- Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder - need this to set my makeup since YSL fusion ink foundation has a tendency to move all over the place when not set by powder.
- Heroinemake Kiss Me Speedy Mascara remover - this is the new formula I think, but it just works the same as the old formula
- Lip Tint - I tend to switch lip tints between the Peripera the Airy Ink Velvet, Ink Velvet and Chateau Labiotte Wine Tint
Duty
I characterize my makeup here as just the right amount. It should be long lasting to last you until night but it should be easy to remove as well, since when you sleep in the hospital for your 30 hour duty, you don't have the comfort of your usual makeup removers inside the hospital.
- L'occitane Cherry Blossom Facial Mist
- YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation
- The Saem Perfect Tip Concealer
- Heimish Dailism Eyeshadow Palette
- Holika Holika Jewel-Light Eyeliner
- Clio Kill Brown Pen Liner - this is not that long-lasting, but this is my only eyeliner as of the moment that is really easily removed with just a makeup wipe.
- Etude Housse Berry Delicious Cream Blusher
- Daiso Eyebrow Pencil
- Nichido Contour Palette
- Too Cool for School Artclass by Rodin
- Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder
- Peripera the Airy Ink Velvet - I use this during duty because by the night time, it's completely gone and I don't have to worry in removing it from my lips.
As you may have noticed, I don't wear mascara when I'm on duty and I use an eyeliner that is really easily removed. Because when you're on duty, you don't have the luxury of spending a lot of time in removing your makeup since you have to attend to patients. So a very important thing to consider is your makeup should be easily removed.
From
This is my most minimalist makeup routine. This is because I only have a small pouch to fit in my makeup products to bring to the hospital. And most of the time, you're just too tired and would want a worry-free and simple makeup routine that won't take a lot of your time.
Yes I took this picture while I'm from duty in the hospital. Maganda yun lighting sa "Giraffe" in fairness
I think this post just got pretty long, I will no longer bore you, so til next time.
