Ipod shuffle watch strap

I'm naming this project as: Music in your soul.  Remember the earlier bijou strap I made for my ipod shuffle?
I've used it for trial for I think less than 1 month, so in my next design of my bijou strap, I added a new feature, an earphone winder.  That way, you can safely atore your earphones when not in use & still wear your ipod shuffle with great pride w/o worrying where to put your earphones.

This is my new design:
With incredibly great features:

I'm so excited to make another one.  I think I'm getting addicted to felt crafts again!

The Makings of Cosa Nostra Headdress

Let me briefly show you how I made the Cosa Nostra Headdress.  Sorry only few pictures since I was in a hurry making this.

Materials I used:
  • ribbon hairpiece - I bought this from Landmark, Trinoma
  • Feathers
  • faux pearl beads
  • acrylic gemstones, flatbacks
  • velvet ribbon
  • E6000 / hot glue gun
  • jump rings, lobster locket, extender, headpin
  • scrap ball chains

First, you'll measure the circumference of your head then cut the ribbon to desired length

Second we'll attach headpin & um.. I don't know what it's called but it's in the picture. I glued the ribbon using E6000

Then I put in lobster lock & extender to both ends.

3rd: I took some acrylic rhinestones & attached it to the ribbon, using hot glue gun.
4th: I took some scrap ballchains & attached it to lobster locks, then I attached it to big rings.

Then I glued the big rings to the ribbon using E6000

The other ball chains I attached it behind the rhinestones to hide the other ends.

I made a strand of pearls & attached it as well.

5th: I took the ribbon clip, then attached the 2 feathers at the back to give me that 'flapper' feel of the 1920s.
Here's the finished product!

Cosa Nostra Headdress

We're having our Intern's Party tomorrow.  It's a themed party, Mafia/1920s fashion etc etc.  This will be the ONLY intern's party I will be able to attend to.  Well the other parties? They're usually on the date I'm ON DUTY so no choice but to stay in the hospital.  Anyways I'm excited for tomorrow.

I think that I won't be buying a dress for the party, well, because I think that flapper dress is not my really type of fashion.  So I don't think that it will be practical for me to buy the flapper dress just for 1 event.  I'll just look into my old wardrobe & work with it.  Hehe, I'll be posting the pictures tomorrow.  Right now I'm from duty, so I couldn't detail what I'll be wearing tomorrow. Just watch out for the full get up.

I was 1/2 day today, luckily! So I stopped by at Trinoma to look for any accessory for the party.  I'll just invest on accessories since I won't be spending on the dress anyways.  Well I searched through landmark, I was tired, & I only have limited time to snoop around.  I bought a hairclip, & I was looking for feathers but no feather inspired accessory fit for me.  Luckily I was able to find a pair of earrings w/ feathers that have the right length that I want to.

So.... I converted the earrings etc etc, scrap ribbons, etc etc, my scrap here at home & here's my finished product

I'll tell you the details of how I made this later... right now I'm sleepy, 'til next time!

Owl & Dumpling

I think I was pretty creative today.  Being in boring family med rotation, I think this rotation sucks the life out of me, although the good side, there's enough rest as an intern.

Anyways, I had nothing to do, so I thought I should do the requests by some of my co-interns.

I finished the pink owl iphone 4 case today:

Then I was able to finish MTO of Dr. Fang

I was thinking, when was the last time I needle felted??? I can't remember.  It's good to go back to old crafts hahaha. Well, Dr. Fang requested that I make a dumpling needle-felted sculpture for him.  He wanted steamed dumplings in particular. I only have limited colors of wool available here in my stash.  I tried mixing white, browns, etc trying hard to get that "steamed"effect.  My end product, hm.. I think it looked more of fried rather than steamed.  Oh well, I guess I just have to show him tomorrow if he likes it.

I just realized I'm using lots of pink today... hm... maybe it's the effect of the valentines' day coming near.  Happy valentines's Day!!!!

Personalized Bag Hooks Batch 1

Good thing these bag hooks are invented! They're very much useful, especially in parties. Most of the time we place our bags in our lap or on our back. This is uncomfortable especially when you're eating, sauces might even stain your bag. Plus if you put it in your back, it may fall off, or even gets stolen.
What's great about this is that it's foldable, very compact & easy to bring wherever you go.

I like making personalized bag hooks, it adds a touch of personality =D & most of the time if your name is in it, you know which is really yours.

As requested by my mom. She asked me to personalize bag hooks for her. She'll give these as gifts in Christmas.
