Toothless Corner Bookmark

Have you seen the new sequel of How to Train your Dragon? OMG!!! It's sooo amazing!!!

I promised I would make a craft related to the movie. Here it is:

Materials you'll need:
1. Cardstock: black, green, pink, red
2. Glue/ glue tape/ glue stick
3. Cutter
4. Scissors
5. Printer
6. Colored pens, pencils, correction fluid

I created a template for this, which I will upload later.

Get your black cardstock and use the template to cut out the shape. (Sorry, I left the black cardstock in the locker in the hospital, so I just colored the paper black w/ black pentel pen)

After coloring, I cut out 2.5 x 2.5 inch squate from pink cardstock. I cut iut the eyes in green cardstock also.
After which, you can paste the eyes.
I drew some more details and colored the eyes w/ colored pencils and pens
Add more detail like scales. Tongue shading, ears etc.
Here's the finished product!
Til next project!

Toothless forever!!!

Happy birthday Dr Abes!

Actually, the real date of birthday of Dr. abes is June 15, 2014. I wasn't aware of when was his real birthday so I wasn't able to greet him that day. Everyone was busy that day and the other residents forgot also. Oh no! We have to make up for it! We all felt guilty that we forgot his special day.

Dr Abes I think is the most senior consultant in the Surgery Department, and though he was a 'terror' mentor before during his younger days, I admire still his passion for teaching.

I admire that he would still go to our conferences to share his knowledge & to challenge us with his questions. I admire that he would still do surgeries deite his age. i admire that he is open to new ideas and that he would at the same time share his traditional ways which sometimes wpuld really help your management of patients in special cases and whenever they're financially constrained.

In other words, WE LOVE DR ABES!!!

We ate at Chicken Inasal ng Bacolod near The Medical City. It's kind of weird that UST surgery residents would all go to medical city just to eat at chicken inasal, but that's where our birthday celebrant wished to go. So there we will go.

I love the food by the way hehe and Grey Goose of course. Also I think the cake we ordered was just right for him. Even at an expensive price, I think it's worth it, especially if it's customized just for the person whom had a special place all in our hearts.

Happy Father's Day!

I'm declaring myself as daddy's girl. Even if my other siblings would say the same thing. I'm very thankful I have a really cool dad.
Today is his special day, we got him spa certificate and I got him I'm not sure what you call that, the covering for car to protect from sunlight...? Anyways after givibg him his gift, we went to eat to celebrate.
We're lucky I'm not on duty so we're complete in the celebration.
We ate at Bubble Tea in Banawe
It was something simple, and we preferred it that way since we don't want too many people abd waiting long for the food.
Love their drinks, when you wabt to be free of colas you should go here since they don't sell softdrinks.
My favorite dish was the yogi's fries. Amazing.

I'll give this restaurant a rating of 3.5/5

Bonding time w/ consultants

Isn't it amazing that consultants would take some of their time off to spend time with their residents?

Whether its just dairy queen ice cream, kfc, mcdo up to exclusive restaurants, I think it's the moments spent with them are important. You'll get this secured feeling that they're there to guide you in your training.

One of my favorite activities is spending breakfast w/ Dr Olalia. I always get this "fatherly" feel when we're having breakfast with him. It's like we're all his little children hehe :D

1st time we had breakfast at KFC.

Dr delos Angeles is also one of our consultants who treats us to dinner or lunch. Bonding time with him is like spending time with your close friends more of like "hang-out w/ barkada"
Dinner at Pepeton's. Kapalmuks! Woohoo!

Yearly, Dr. Navarro will host a party to welcome the newly accepted 1st year residents. This is one of the big events and attended by lots of consultants as well.
In every 1st year surgery resident's life, this is one party you'll never forget for the rest of your life.
Of course there are little moments we spend in Dr Navarro's clinic where we get free softdrinks and snacks.
Happy birthday Doc!

One of rare occassions was when Dr Nucum treated us in a buffet. It's always a happy time whenever you're with him, never a dull moment.
At Buffet 101, Robinson's Magnolia.

The last but not the least in this list is w/ Dr Alcid. When I entered surgery, he was our RTO and has taught us a lot from academics to the way you present yourself in front of the patient, to the way you dress. The one who single-handedly guided us and I believe he succeeded since up to present, residents still ask for his advice in managing patients.

He's like your BFF & your teacher at the same t
BFF fries at McDonald's UST pay parking
Lombardi's, Robinson's Magnolia - best cheese pizza I ever tasted.

Hopefully I can have another list of bonding moments w/ consultants :D.

Customized wifi device skin

I lost my wifi device, huhu. I bought a new one then, my new device is colored white. Hm... Easy to get dirty...

I've been using it for a while now and I got lots of stains already. So I decided to have a protector, much like skins in mobile phones.

I searched the net to look for printable clear vinyl sticker. I found some in olx.com.ph. Then I decided to make the skin.

Materials you'll need:
Laptop or desktop
Printer
Image editing software (I used photoshop)
Printable clear vinyl sticker
Cutter
Scissors

1. I measured the dimensions of my wifi device. This is 3.75 by 2.3 inches. The distance from the top edge to the screen is 2 cm, the distance from side to the screen is 0.5 inch.

2. With your image editing software, create your image. Of course I used my favorite Sanrio Character: KUROMI!!!!
3. Then print in into the clear vinyl sticker.

4. Clean the surface of your device. I find that make up remover removes stain easily.
5. Cut out your prints
6. Stick them to your device carefully.
Front
Back
7. Enjoy your new wifi skin!

Insights about this project:
1. Make-up removers are great! They not only remove make-up but also other stains in your projects. Amazing!
2. There's a discrepancy over the measurements of photoshop & microsoft word....
